Labor Day Weekend, NYC

I've always felt a bit guilty that there is so much to see and do in New York, and I have the opportunity to experience it all, and I don’t. So this weekend Dan and I headed to the big city for our birthday/anniversary (can you believe it's been a year??!) weekend and tried to fit in a vacation's worth of sightseeing.

Dan flew in from Barcelona on Saturday, and I met him at our posh (I'm sorry, opulent) hotel, The Palace.

Which has an exquisite view of

And, while I'm bragging, this was the view from our room.

We relaxed for a bit and headed out to eat at WD~50

(for details of our fabulous meal, head over here to my “flog”).

The next morning, we slept in, checked out, and grabbed a quick lunch at Europa Cafe (highly underrated for good, fast food).

And then heading out to find the Seagram Building. I never noticed the building, until I read that was a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe(who I learned about in Barcelona) building.

We came across part of the Berlin Wall!

And I posed before a waterfall.

We headed to Central Park to walk around a bit, found a nice bench to relax with some lemonade, then headed out for shopping.

Thomas Pink and Tiffany’s, then Saks and Bergdorf’s in search for the perfect pair of rainboots.

Along the way we spotted Radio City Music Hall (rather a let-down)

30 Rock!

The Russian Tea Room

Finally, we caught a cab down to the village; we were stopped of for a few beers at The Half Pint, then dinner with friends at Cuba.

We took the bus back home, and still had Monday off to celebrate Labor Day with the family.

This was honestly, the best weekend I could have asked for.

Dan's Montreal

Well Dan got to add a new stamp to his passport with a solo trip to Montreal. It looks beautiful, and he said everyone was extraordinarily nice. Maybe next time I can go too.

New York again

Dan just got back from Montreal, so there will be some new pics up shortly. In the meantime, here are some more boring New York pics.
